Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike takes place a few years after the end of the great war which preceded the events in Tales of Vesperia. The Emperor has just died, but the world seemingly remains in peace. The substance know as “aer” is affording people an age of discoveries and prosperity. In order to protect towns from attacks by monsters, large amounts of a crystallized form of aer are being produced to create barriers around towns. One day, Yuri Lowell and Flynn Scifo, two knights who have just joined the Nylen Corps, are sent on a mission to investigate the truth behind a strange gushing of aer.
Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike se passa poucos anos após o final da grande guerra que precedeu os eventos de Tales of Vesperia. O imperador acaba de morrer, mas o mundo parece estar em paz. A substância conhecida como “aer” proporciona às pessoas do planeta Terca Lumireis uma fase de descobertas e prosperidade. A forma cristalizada do aer vem sendo produzida para criar barreiras ao redor das cidades e protegê-las do ataques de monstros. Um dia, Yuri Lowell e Flynn Scifo, dois cavaleiros recém-ingressados no Nylen Corps, são enviados para investigar a verdade sobre uma estranha erupção de aer.
