Pretty Blood showcases some of the most important female contributions to the horror industry. The documentary includes provocative scenes from innovator films, and also interviews with renowned female authors, screenwriters and directors. Present in Pretty Blood, are the directors Mary Lambert and Katt Shea, the screenwriter Karen Walton and the scream queens Brinke Stevens, Debbie Rochon and Cerina Vincent. They speak about their careers, experiences, struggles and their vision on the male ascendancy over the horror industry.
